Well my friends….the Almrauschparty at Rosi’s wonderful Sonnbergstuben in Kitzbühel, that was quite a blast! I’m still reminiscing about this highlight Trachten event in the Kitzbühler Alps. And my feet are still sore from dancing, because that’s what the 800 fancy dressed guests did, dance until the crack of dawn! Despite being a fairly insider event – mainly German and Austrian guests (we were the only Dutch ones) – it’s definitely a must-go. Especially if you’re a die-hard Oktoberfest fan, this event is indisputably your prelude to the largest Volksfest in the world. Once inside, you instantly get caught by the flow and mood of Austrian tradition, Gemütlichkeit, Tracht and glamour. Let me tell you the 5 reasons why you should go there to have an unforgettable night out!
Always wanted to have a look inside the most expensive chalet in the Austrian Alps? Well…this is it! The Chalet N in Oberlech, is where the richest among us relax and have a blast in maximum privacy. Surrounded by top notch amenities and in one of the most beautiful and high end ski resorts in Austria. Are you ready to absorb some eye candy images of Alpine style at the highest level?
Just got back from a couple of great days in Saalbach and I’m still thrilled about this positive vibe I’ve experienced over there. Almost 10 years ago I was in Saalbach for the first time, but this time it turned out to be totally different! I had already heard a lot about it. The event was created by the ‘fab 4’ – Wim, Fabian, Anouk & Laura – and rolled out by the professional and dedicated Dutchweek crew. My expectations were high and I was prepared for everything….
For quite some time now I’ve been wanting to share my favorite Instagrammers of the moment with you. The ones that inspire me big time! I don’t know about you, but checking my Insta is what I love to do first thing in the morning. Probably just like you, I have favorites in many different categories. Today I start with the ones that definitely know how to capture the beauty of the (snowy) mountains. Why start with these? Because my passion for the mountains is definitely the main reason why I started blogging about mountain travel, life and leisure in the first place! I hope you too will get inspired by this bunch of mountain and snow lovers. Enjoy!
Our ride from hotspot Sölden to the chic spa resort of Bad Hofgastein was beautiful. The scenery changed gradually from the high peaks of Tyrol to the predominantly rolling Salzburgerland landscape. This was going to be another 48 hours in a very different setting and vibe, but with one consistent feature in both resorts: fresh snow!
It’s your first time in hotspot ski-resort Sölden and you only have 48 hours to explore it. What should you definitely do and where should you go, to get the best first impression of this very versatile ski resort? A couple of weeks ago I was there. It inspired me to write down this checklist. A list that will guide you along the finest spots Sölden has to offer. According to me, obviously..
The ice Q restaurant in Sölden! Never heard of it? That’s almost impossible. If you’ve seen the latest Bond film SPECTRE – like millions of us around the globe – you must have seen it. Not in its actual restaurant setting though, but as a futurist hospital where villain Christoph Waltz pursues his devilish plans. I had to see this cool spot with my own eyes and walk in 007’s footsteps. When I recently visited Sölden I took the opportunity to go there at 3.048m. above sea level. Let me tell you the 5 reasons why you should visit the ice Q too!
Daniel Craig is seen in almost every TV show and Sam Smith’s Bond song airs a couple of times a day. It can’t be missed, the worldwide media campaign is launched in full force. Soon the new James Bond film Spectre premieres! I always look forward to it. The spectacle, the gadgets, Daniel’s blue eyes and last but not least the fantastic locations, where 007 gets to do his job to save the world from the villains. This time I am looking forward to it even more. The beautiful Austrian spots Sölden, Obertilliach and Altaussee are starring!
Just got back from a wonderful weekend in München. It was my second time at the Oktoberfest and it was even better than the first time! I reckon the more often you go the better it gets. They say, ‘good preparation is half the battle’ and that’s true. There are some things you can already take care of before heading to the biggest Volksfest in the world. Check my 5 tips below. These will definitely contribute to an even greater Oktoberfest experience!
This summer we finally did it. We went to South Tyrol. Visiting this region had been on our wishlist for so long and now the time had come. Curious what the boys and I have been doing in beautiful South Tyrol? Check our sightseeing tips below.
