Ski and Après-Ski
You can’t do one without the other, at least that’s what I think. I can’t imagine going back to the hotel for a relaxing evening, after a day on the slopes: No! For me a perfect day in the snow definitely has to end with ‘Fliegender Hirsch‘, a fine glass of Grüner Veltliner and singing & dancing to the tunes of the (Schlager) music. I’ve surrounded myself with great people over the years, who enjoy this as much as I do. Lucky me!
My husband Max introduced me to the Après-Ski phenomenon 15 years ago in Patschi Pub, Serfaus and from that moment on, I am a huge fan of this great and ‘Gemütliche’ way to celebrate my skiing holiday. At least once a year we go together with our 3 kids, but we also enjoy going separately with friends. Every year in week 11 it’s Ladies Only Trip to Serfaus. Four days of snow, sun, laughter, fun and party.
Although I’m Dutch, I love to party at venues where it’s not only about Dutch songs. The local Austrian and German tracks are my favorites; my guilty pleasure
Ludwigs’ Top 5 Après-Ski Party Places
#1. Patschi Pub, Serfaus.
‘ Schluss ist erst wenn keiner mehr kann’ . Party hours: 13.00 – 01.00.
Patschi Pub is the place where I’ve experienced my first Après-Ski party ever. Brings back real good memories. You can find me here every year in week 11. Serfaus is not the typical party destination, but because of the fact that Patschi is actually the only Après-Ski venue in the village, everybody gathers here and that makes it a great place to party. It’s open until 01.00, but if you still got enough strength and energy, you can go for another round at George’s Pub. The owner is Dutch and he knows how to throw a party. And…..they serve the best grilled ham and cheese sandwiches in Tyrol.
#2. MooserWirt, Sankt Anton am Arlberg.
‘ Die Mutter aller Skihütten’. Party hours: 15:30 – 20:00.
Every day it starts here at 11.00 am by serving great food. And every winter – all the way back since 1989 -, at precisely 15:30 pm, DJ Gerhard starts his Après-Ski session for four and a half hours. From that moment on Party is the magic word. At 20.00 pm the MooserWirt comes to rest to get ready for another day of the good party life.
#3. Lürzer Alm, Obertauern.
‘ Es kann nur eine geben’ . Party hours: 15.30 – 02.00.
The Lürzer Alm is centrally located in the village, right next to the slopes. The perfect way to end your ski day in Obertauern: Start après-ski at the Edelweissalm on the slope and continue the party in the village at Lürzer Alm. Such a blast!
#4. Trofana Alm, Ischgl.
Die Trofana Alm – einzigartig in Ischgl. Come in and find out!
Party hours: 15.00 – 24.00.
Ischgl and Trofana Alm definitely belong together. It is almost impossible to miss it. Make sure to go for a drink when you’re there. We’ve been at Trofana a couple of times over the last years, but the last time was the best ever. It was the night before the Robbie Williams Closing Weekend concert. Incredible good atmosphere and loads of happy people singing and dancing.
#5. Goasstall, Hinterglemm.
Party hours: Snowbar: 10.00 – Mek Goass until 20.00 – Party starts: 22.00.
Owner Melissa opens the Après-Ski every day, the same way. For one minute Melissa yells Austrian dialect through a microphone. Then she blares like a goat and the party starts at the Goasstall.
