Recently l went to the beautiful Salzbugerland to enjoy Hinterglemm in all its winter glory. Not my first time at this lovely Alpine village, but my first time ever though, visiting the ADLER RESORT. I was there to attend the Grand Opening event and experience the ‘YouareAdler’ way of being a guest at this brand new house.
Just got back from my trip to Austria and seeing all those fab ski fashion brands in the shops over there, I really got inspired to write this post about my Top 4 favorite brands of this season and show you some highlights of their collections. If you haven’t decided about your ski outfit yet, or need some last minute Christmas wishlist inspiration, the brands in my post may be of help. They are from Austria, South Tyrol and The Netherlands and have one thing in common: Main goal is to design stunning ski fashion to make you shine like never before, on and off slope!
Well my friends….the Almrauschparty at Rosi’s wonderful Sonnbergstuben in Kitzbühel, that was quite a blast! I’m still reminiscing about this highlight Trachten event in the Kitzbühler Alps. And my feet are still sore from dancing, because that’s what the 800 fancy dressed guests did, dance until the crack of dawn! Despite being a fairly insider event – mainly German and Austrian guests (we were the only Dutch ones) – it’s definitely a must-go. Especially if you’re a die-hard Oktoberfest fan, this event is indisputably your prelude to the largest Volksfest in the world. Once inside, you instantly get caught by the flow and mood of Austrian tradition, Gemütlichkeit, Tracht and glamour. Let me tell you the 5 reasons why you should go there to have an unforgettable night out!
Always wanted to have a look inside the most expensive chalet in the Austrian Alps? Well…this is it! The Chalet N in Oberlech, is where the richest among us relax and have a blast in maximum privacy. Surrounded by top notch amenities and in one of the most beautiful and high end ski resorts in Austria. Are you ready to absorb some eye candy images of Alpine style at the highest level?
Arriving at the Hotel Lux Alpinae in Sankt Anton immediately aroused my curiosity. A house so unconventional, built upon an extremely steep slope (40°) and with these mainly raw materials. Couldn’t wait to find out how it would be to stay here for a few days…Let me tell you about this remarkable place and the 5 reasons why you should definitely consider to stay here.
For quite some time now I’ve been wanting to share my favorite Instagrammers of the moment with you. The ones that inspire me big time! I don’t know about you, but checking my Insta is what I love to do first thing in the morning. Probably just like you, I have favorites in many different categories. Today I start with the ones that definitely know how to capture the beauty of the (snowy) mountains. Why start with these? Because my passion for the mountains is definitely the main reason why I started blogging about mountain travel, life and leisure in the first place! I hope you too will get inspired by this bunch of mountain and snow lovers. Enjoy!
Our ride from hotspot Sölden to the chic spa resort of Bad Hofgastein was beautiful. The scenery changed gradually from the high peaks of Tyrol to the predominantly rolling Salzburgerland landscape. This was going to be another 48 hours in a very different setting and vibe, but with one consistent feature in both resorts: fresh snow!
It’s your first time in hotspot ski-resort Sölden and you only have 48 hours to explore it. What should you definitely do and where should you go, to get the best first impression of this very versatile ski resort? A couple of weeks ago I was there. It inspired me to write down this checklist. A list that will guide you along the finest spots Sölden has to offer. According to me, obviously..
The drive to 4 star superior hotel DAS.GOLDBERG in Bad Hofgastein was a lovely one. Heavy snowfall had created this amazing scenery. The climb all the way up to the hotel was quite challenging, but was definitely worth it. When I walked into the hotel, the first thing that struck me was the lovely smell of fresh, roasted coffee. A good sign, instantly felt the cozyness and hospitality.
It doesn’t happen everyday that I get to stay in a real castle that goes back to 1150. You can imagine how excited I was. We were heading there by car and saw it looming in the distance. This beautiful, white Schloss on top of the hill, overlooking the valley of Mittersill. It had been snowing the whole day and created this fairytale picture perfect!
