This summer VALAVIER Aktivresort in Brand, was one of our temporary homes abroad. Staying at the Valavier surprised us in many ways, but there are 3 specific things about this lovely place I like to share. Of course, the rooms are fully equipped and the Wellness & Spa facilities are well taken care of, but that’s what you may expect from a hotel like this. It’s the feeling you get when you stay here, that’s what actually makes the difference.
The 3 lovely features of Aktivresort Valavier
#1. Stunning view
The village of Brand is located in the valley of Brandnertal, surrounded by beautiful mountains. I think the hotel is designed to look outside and let the amazing scenery do the talking. I like waking up with a view like this. Especially on early-bird mornings when it’s still cloudy and foggy, it’s wonderful how nature shows itself.
#2. Wonderful garden
Through the years I’ve seen many lovely hotel gardens. Most of them perfectly groomed and designed to please their guests, but the Valavier garden is one of a kind. This garden is taken care of with the heart, a green heart, that belongs to Wolfi Drolle, who has been gardening and decorating it for so many years now. It’s packed with fun, sweet, happy and feel good treasures. Obviously there is an outdoor pool, not a spectacular one, but perfect to dip in on a hot day. The garden though is quite spectacular in terms of dedication and details. It’s perfect for families, but if you want to have more privacy that’s possible too. There are various area’s where you can sit down and enjoy a drink or relax your feet, in a tub with fresh mountain water. For Valavier’s little guests there’s a lot to do. The garden hosts birdcages and cute rabbits to pet ( they also take care of the grass:), a playground and the perfect spots to play hide and seek.
#3. Delicious food
You guys know that I am a big fan of the Austrian kitchen. Entering the restaurant at Valavier turned a big smile on my face. Breakfast, lunch, dinner it was all prepared with the greatest care. This summer my favorite lunch treat was the rich, homemade Flammkuchen with bacon, sourcream, spring onion and garlic. I just had to eat it every day. At dinner the chef outdid himself again and again. Delicate dishes, decorated with fresh flowers from the Valavier garden. Because the eye is indeed a great part of the eating experience.
Besides relaxing, swimming and playing with the rabbits, the garden turned out to be the perfect spot for a photoshoot. I took my Kinga Mathe dirndl with me to Austria to wear it as often as I could, this was the perfect occasion to put it on again and shoot some nice pictures.
