The staff. Heart and soul of the house
We just got back from our summer trip to Austria. The first hotel we visited was The Alpine Palace New Balance Luxus Resort in Hinterglemm. We never stayed here before, so we were very excited about what to expect. It turned out to be a place that surprised us in a very, very pleasant way. The hotel of course, looks wonderful. But the main thing that surprised us was definitely the way the staff made it their biggest effort to give us the perfect stay. A big, big compliment to all of them!
The service they provide is quite unbelievable. They truly enjoy their work and do so with heart and soul. They have such great pleasure in pampering the guests, we could sense that it came from the heart. Never before have I felt the need to take pictures of the chef, the sommelier and director of the hotel. But this time I wanted to feature them in my post.
Have a look at the ‘heart and soul’ of the house: the Alpine Palace staff members who truly made the difference. Thank you so much Ingo Lugitsch, Markus Weineiss, Marko Haas, Beatrice and Hannah (friendly and very well trained team-members of Markus Weineiss’s brigade) and last but not least Flo Wolf, for making our stay the perfect one!

A true Palace
Much attention is paid to the contemporary interior, and that makes it really 5 star worthy. The spacious lobby with eye-catching waterfall elevator. Great centerpiece fireplace, cosy bar, rich fabrics and wooden art pieces by Vice President and well-known artist Flo Wolf throughout the entire house. We were so fascinated by his art that we bought 2 wooden ahorn seats. In the picture you can see me sitting on one of them together with Flo! The Wolf family – one of Austria’s most well-known hotelier families – has spared no efforts to make this house into a real Palace.

Spacious and very comfortable. Oak wooden floors, bubble bath, kingsize beds and fluffy bathrobes and towels. Scented candles spread lovely fresh air and large oak drawers and cupboards in all separate rooms to store the luggage. Nice detail, the minibar is hidden away into a typical Austrian painted cupboard. Love this combination of tradition and design.

Ingo Lugitsch. The chef of heavenly dishes
Two *Hauben Kitchenchef Ingo Lugitsch (*15 Gault Millau points, equivalent of 1 Michelin Star ), leads The Alpine Palace kitchen together with his white brigade. Below you will find some pictures of his haute cuisine creations, delicious and delicate.
Need I say more about this lovely house? I don’t think so. I definitely recommend to visit the Alpine Palace and enjoy it to the fullest!
